Stage 4 - Ngong Ping

Lantau Trail 4

TIME:1. 25hrs

This trail starts just off from the Wisdom Path at Ngong Ping, leave Ngong Ping and head to the Tea garden which is well sign posted, then on to the Wisdom Path there you will find the start of trail 4.

Unfortunately the first Lantau trail 4 was closed due to a very large landslip back in 2008 and a re-routed one is now in its place. The difference isn't that much and if its your first time it does it really matter. Still a trail with the same intention and going from Ngong Ping to Sham Wat road. There isn't a lot can be said about this trail its only 4 kilometers long and its a downward trail. Like all Lantau Trails its still a nice walk with some loverly views of the large Shep Pik reservoir and the surrounding country side. The walk twists and turns as it descends down towards Sham Wat road and it is a very nice walk with a lot of different array of flowers and flowering trees (it has to be in the season though) and of course the spiders and the butterflies. Looking out over the reservoir and out towards the sea is is a view to remember. On reaching Sham Wat road there are bus stops that will take you to Tung Chung (11 or 23) or Mui Wo (1 or 2).
